Lecture 8.0.0. Practical Session: How to Check Your Transaction on the Explorer

Step 1: Open the explorer’s website by clicking on the link:

• for the Ethereum smartchain: etherscan.io

• for the BNB Smart Chain: bscscan.com

Step 2: Identify the contract address of the crypto

You can see the crypto contract address from the developer’s website or from any aggregator exchange where it is listed.

Step 3: Search the details of the crypto

Paste the contract address of the crypto in the search area of the scan and click “search.”

Step 4: See the details of the crypto:

In the scan, you will see the following information about a crypto:

(a). Official name

(b). Symbol

(c). Decimals – referring to how much fractions you can divide the crypto into

(d). Website – if there is a website for the crypto project, it may be seen as well

(e). Total coin supply

(f). Total coin burnt

(g). Holders – referring to the number of wallet addresses that hold the crypto

(h). Transfers – referring to each transaction that involves the crypto

(i). Analytics – gives the listing date and graphical summary of transactions involving the crypto.

These and much more information about a crypto can be seen on the explorer. Meaning, you can see all the wallets that hold the crypto and how many coins are in each of the wallets but will not be able to identify the owners of such wallets.
